We were sitting in the cafeteria, waiting for others to join us. Ehaan had gone to bring us snacks. Pia passed an hesitating smile. I masked a fake smile in her direction. I wasn't in a mood to make small talks. I was still trying to register things happened in the club.
"I hadn't thought Ehaan would take such an impulsive decision." She muttered glancing at Ehaan in the corner. He was talking to some senior. "Backing from dance club during such an important event." She shook her head at the thought of it. "Our university can't afford loosing Ehaan." She paused, a smile shaping on her lips. "He is the most incredible dancer I have ever came across." The blush forming on her cheeks was indicator of her admiration for Ehaan. It wasn't invisible for my eyes that she had a crush on him.
"How had you both met?" I was curious to know about their meeting, their past.
She stared at me suddenly getting conscious. "In the dance club. I had heard about him before by the college mates. I had never planned of becoming friend with him. He helped me during those bully session. He was the only leader among the community that offered kindness. Later, we became friends. He introduced me to his friends and I got to know others don't hold same opinion about him." She laughed, "about him being kind."
I nodded, I also didn't share the same opinion. Ehaan could be anything but not kind. But he offered kindness to her.
We heard approaching footsteps and Ehaan had came with the tray filled with snacks. I attempted to avoid eye contact with him. As I was attempting hard to calm my anxious heart. I didn't need to feel insecure but I couldn't help myself. I was dying in anxiety. My heart was scared of losing Ehaan.
Ehaan kept the tray filled with snacks on the table. "Have some," he pulled the tray towards me. I was trying to avoid eye contact with him. "What's the matter," he inquired staring at me with concern.
"Nothing," I attempted to shove the topic. He wasn't convinced yet he didn't forced me.
We had many approaching footsteps. Diverting attention to them, Anuj seemed very concerned. He glanced between me and Ehaan. His concerned orbs coming and resting on me. Aarav came and took the chair beside Ehaan. I heard murmurs going between them.
"Is it true?" Varun was the first person to ask the question directly. Others took their respective places on the table. While Zara and Anuj just stood behind it the chair.
Ehaan kept his mouth shut while gazes move between me and Pia. Pia hesitated has she glanced at Ehaan for permission. Ehaan had a board expression planted on his face. He looked disinterested in the conversation happening before him. Niti nudged Pia's shoulder, promting her to blurt the things out.
Pia shook her head in defeat as she opened her mouth. "Yes! Ehaan had an argument with Palak." Silence enveloped us. None was happy on getting the news.
"Why?" Zara raised her voice in frustration. "Why would you want to get involved with her?" Displeasure was visible in her tone.
"I hadn't done it on purpose!" Ehaan groaned. "I had been handling her for years. Her nonsense attitude!"
"Ehaan is correct," Pia came in his support. "She is horrible! She had always being cruel to everyone. If Ehaan hadn't interrupted she would've treated Ruhi badly."
"There was no need of getting Ruhi involved in the mess!" Anuj screamed in annoyance. "Why was she even taken there if you were aware of the consequences?" His black orbs were planted on Ehaan. "Palak won't spare you but her target will be Ruhi Raichand." Anuj had clenched his frist in annoyance.
"She won't be able to touch her." Ehaan roared like a furious lion.
"But Ehaan there wasn't any need of including Ruhi in the mess," Aarav was supporting Anuj statement. I kept looking among them. What was they saying? Why were they making such a fuzz about a small thing?
"I know, what I am doing." Ehaan clenched his frist. "I can manage it alone!" He stood from the chair, his orbs glancing at me. Those dark orbs fuming in rage, calmed a little, softness returning to it. As he extended his palms towards me. I nodded not hesitating as I kept my hands in his and we walked away from his group of friends.
His grip of my hands tightened as we walked in the corridors. People orbs planted on us. I could hear murmurs, curiosity planting around. I felt as if the world had misconception of Ehaan dating someone else. Or maybe they couldn't see us together.
The entire ride to the mansion was accompanied with silence. His tight jaw, his tight grip on the steering wheel. His hard gaze on the road with tight lips. Everything was an indicator of his soar mood. It had worsened with his friends question over his actions. If I hadn't walked with him or question him it would've lead into him harming himself.
He had hard time with controlling his rage, fury. Initially he used to blast his anger on his classmates. Raging them, bullying them, humiliating them was his ways of calming himself down. If it was severe, he would harm himself. During this years I had managed to understand him.
"Do you trust me, angel?" His voice was filled with pain. I offered him a slight nod, his orbs hesitating. "What if I say, I did it on purpose?" He raised his brow in question. "I dragged you into the club on purpose." He stared at me for a minute longer. His orbs reading me with curiousness. "Would you still trust my actions?"
"The reason would be for my safety even if I won't understand it at the moment."
His orbs soften at my comment. "I wanted her to meet you." He confessed, his orbs turning a shade darker.
"Who? Mia?" He shook his head in response. "Palak?" I asked with new found curiosity. What had she do with them? Why everyone was concerned about her?
"You need to prove her wrong." Ehaan addressed, "you're going to defeat her in her own game." He was sounding confident, firm in his voice.
"Which game?" I was feeling anxious. I wasn't adoring the idea of defeating her or challenging her. She was more talented, determined and powerful I could ever be. I could never defeat her. I lowered my head in embarrassment. Ehaan had such confidence in me. How could I convey to him that I can't stand on the his expectations.
"Ruhi!" His voice turning soft, delicate. "Please took at me," he was almost pleading, requesting. I slowly raised my orbs towards him. His hands reaching to cup my face as he erased the distance between us. "Don't you believe in me?" His orbs raising in question, driving deep into my soul to get an answer.
"I don't believe in myself, Ehaan." I sighed as I shook my head in disbelief. "She is one of the leaders of dance community of our university. She would be so skilled in dancing. I can't compete with the candidate, how would I compete with her? She is strong! Have you seen her? She has so much confidence in herself. She isn't naive, fragile as me. I can't ever match her and you're talking about defeating her." I jerked his hand away. "It's impossible!"
"You defeated Pia." Ehaan commented, "you over shadowed Pia in the dance floor. You weren't prepared, your steps weren't decided. You did those steps on the moment. You danced on your own rthyme. While she was taught those steps. It was well choreographed by us. And still you believe you're not skilled?" Ehaan stared at me in disbelief.
"You matched each steps I planted. Even Mia used to get annoyed with my innovative nature. The fact that I used to forget steps. You never complained about it. The dance we had on stage was never pre-planned. Each time a new step was ended, each time we ended into a complete different stunts. Yet you matched me, you helped me to make it look graceful."
"There are some dancers which I professional. Which had learn the act of dancing but there are few, who are born dancer." His orbs soften as his fingertips caressed my soft skin. Our orbs locking on one another. "You're born talented, Ruhi. You need to give yourself the opportunity. Stop degrading yourself! Stop allowing others to degrade you."
My orbs brimmed in tears at his words. "I can't ever match them. I am not one of them." A hint of tears, descended from my orbs.
"You don't need to be one of them." Ehaan brushed off the tear. "You have your own speciality." He muttered, his forehead leaning on mine. "Just allow me to get it to bring it in your notice." He was almost requesting, pleading with me.
I offered him a slight nod. "I will!" I wanted to give it a try, I wanted to trust the faith he had upon me. I wanted to help him in the way I could.
"He said anything about yesterday event?" Anuj inquired as he had picked me from the house. I frowned glancing at his nervous spirit.
"Nothing of concern!" I attempted to shove it off. I wasn't planning to talk about it. I had decided to ignore it. If I didn't allow my mind to overthink about the matter and just went with the flow. It would be less anxious!
"He didn't share a thing?" Anuj wasn't convinced with my statement.
"He just want me to help him in the matter and trust him." Was that what he asking him about? Anuj orbs raised in suspiciousness.
"Help him with what?"
"Help him with defeating Palak." I responded, his orbs enlarged in horror and amazement. His face turning stern as his teeth gritted in fury.
"Have he gone nuts?" I had rarely seen Anuj lossing his calm. His orbs glanced at me. "You're not listening to him. You're not getting yourself included with this." He pointed a finger in warning, his orbs staring with a glare.
"He needs me, Anuj." I stared at Anuj with a determination. I had saw it coming. The way they had grouped against Ehaan on the matter. I knew Anuj won't admire my decision. But I had decided! "I can't leave his side. He had never asked for my help before."
"That doesn't mean you jump into the hell without giving a second thought." Anuj was almost yelling at me.
"He won't ever ask me to jump into the hell, Anuj." I stared at Anuj with a look that screamed I wasn't going to second guess my decision. "We are talking about Ehaan. He had kept me above him. He won't ever get me included in things that are harmful for me."
"And I would try to instigate you against him?" Anuj stared at me in annoyance. "Your trust is well commendable! And you should trust him but not a blind support. If his friends are standing against his decision. You need to give it a thought." With that as a final statement, Anuj walked out of the jeep into the university building. I stared at his retreating figure with numerous questions.
I couldn't trust Anuj judgement when it was about me. His biggest priority would be my safety but Ehaan had the same priority. That was the reason they always came under same conclusion about me. I was stunned with their change in opinion. I had to talk about the matter with someone. A person who could reveal the matter, without hiding one or other thing from me.
My orbs moved around the building, lost in thoughts until it came and rested on Aarav. He was leaning in one of those luxurious car. His hands in his black jeans pocket. A devil smirk playing on his red lips. He was listening attentively to the girl before him. She was wearing an extra short dress. Allowing others to glance at her long, slim legs. She laughed as she leaned on Aarav's shoulder. Her hands moving around his chest. I wasn't appreciating the view before me.
This was wrong! It was wrong for Zara. How could Aarav appreciate such a thing? I shook my head as I carried my legs from the jeep towards them. He need to stop it before Zara got a glimpse of it. The girl whispered something in his ears as she walked from there. I frowned as I reached him but his orbs were locked on that lady.
"Hot ..." He muttered to himself.
"That's wrong!" I commented without giving it a thought. "You're doing wrong with Zara." I almost screamed at him in fury. His orbs darken as he heard my words but he clenched his jaw on glancing at me as he shook his head. He was controlling his anger.
"What are you doing here? Don't you have class to attend, kid?" He raised his brow in question.
"Stop ignoring me!" I walked behind him. "How could you allow her to touch you? That's so inappropriate in a relationship." I pointed out. What was that difficult to understand. "And the way you were staring at her. Your orbs filled with lust. How can you allow such a feeling to cross your mind?"
"I am no longer in a relationship if that's what your concern." He groaned in exhaustion. As if he was tired of defending himself. "I am a single soul and I have my freedom." He rolled his orbs as he patted on my head. "Stop troubling your mind and go and joint those lectures." He groaned, he never adored the thought of studies.
I should've listen to his advice. I shouldn't bunk my lectures but I felt as if he was in need of me. Need of his friends! "Are you okay?" I asked as he moved towards one of the vacant bench in the garden outside the university. Students were rushing inside. Very few were accumulated in the garden.
His orbs raised as he glanced at me in surprise. We never shared such a conversation among us. I hardly talked to him alone. I wasn't that close to him. He would never share his innermost emotions yet I felt the urge to inquire.
"Not something I will share with you, kid." Aarav was the only person in the group who genuinely considered me a kid.
"I am no longer a kid but an adult and can understand your problem." I waited with patience but his lips turned upward in amusement. I frowned as I allowed the thought of helping him to slide off. "I need your help." I muttered, "I want to know the matter of Palak."
The amusement faded away while he stared at me with curiosity. "What about her?" I could sense his hesitation.
"What is it about her that get you all nervous?" My words brought a smirk on his face. He was impressed.
"You are good with those eyes of yours. It's really difficult to keep things hidden." He commented. "But things needs to be hidden as that what Ehaan expect from me." He passed a warm smile, his orbs glittering in amusement.
"But why?" I almost yelled in protest.
"Why don't you ask about it to him?"
"Because he won't ever express it out." I passed him a defeated look. His orbs staring at me for a minute longer. "I had attempted but he never reveals those secrets."
"Because he wants to keep you safe from his messed life, Ruhi." Aarav shook his head at the thought.
"I have walk into it with my choice." I pressed almost pleading him to understand me. "I decided to be part of his messed up life every single day. If I want to be with him. I have to be part of that darkness as well." I pointed out. His orbs sparkled in amusement as he shook his head.
"Are you sure about it?" Aarav inquired, "it won't be easy for you."
"I would try my best," Aarav nodded at my statement. He gestured me to grab the seat beside him. I nodded as I was desperate to hear about Palak.
"Palak Kapoor, daughter of the famous Kapoor's." He stared at me while I widen my orbs in horror.
"The superstars?" I almost screamed at the possibility. For my friends it wasn't a big thing. They came from well-reputated and rich families. But for me it was a big thing. Kapoor had a huge name in the film industry and studying with a member of that family was a huge thing. I was almost having a fan moment.
"Yes! So, the arrogance. Their family almost owns the university. They give a huge sum as donation. So, the founders and principal keeps their mouth shut when it's about her."
"So, that's the reason Anuj didn't wanted me to get included in the matter?" Aarav gave a slight nod yet I could feel he was hiding something.
"There is a caught, she might torture you because you're Ehaan's girlfriend." Aarav pointed out, "they never went along with eachother. There was no verbal arguments but they never could fit in a group."
"Why so?" I asked getting curious. It was obvious! Their arrogance couldn't blend together yet they had opted to work with harmony.
"Maybe Opposite Attracts so Similar Repels. As that's what had being occuring between them." Aarav shook his head, "she was fond of him during initial days." I almost opened my mouth in horror at his revelation. "Ehaan showed no interest that could be reason behind her hostile nature towards him." He pointed out, I kept staring at him with a defeated look. How was I to managed among the girls that were interested in my boyfriend?
He kept staring at me. "If should've been obvious that he is attractive to girls." Aarav was trying to lighten my heavy heart. "He had huge fan following in school. Over the years he had got more attractive. That beauty comes with some inconvenience."
"But still," I shook my head at the thought of it. "I don't admire those orbs staring at him. It burns something inside me."
He chuckled at my choice of words. "There are lot of eyes. We can't blind them, can we?" He passed a smile at me. "They will look, they will stare. They might even attempt to build a wall between you both. Just know, none can come between you both until one of you allow it." He passed a warm smile in my direction but I could glimpse at the pain hidden behind it.
"You didn't allow it but she did," I came to the conclusion. He frowned for a minute until my words registered in his brain. His facial expression turning stern as his jaw tighten in anger.
"I don't want to talk about it. I need to attend something," with those words, he rushed off, disapearing in the crowd.
I stared at his retreating figure with sadness. He didn't allowed Pia to get between them. He was correct! Eyes would glance at us. Humans would find us attractive and some would even attempt to get our attention but it was in our hand. Cheating isn't a mistake but a choice!
Aarav didn't cheated on her. His orbs screamed his innocence. That pain behind his smile. The longing and carving he was holding within him. He was built not to display vulnerability and he was distracting himself from the pain. Showcasing to the world that he was a Playboy.
I groaned at the thought of it. I hope, I could help him. But I knew, who could. He had answered to my questions. So, I would help him in the matter.
"Where on the earth were you?" Ehaan passed a glare at me as I jointed them in the cafeteria. Aarav wasn't present with the rest. I ignored his question as I passed a smile at the rest.
"I met Anuj in the hallway and he said you have arrived long back," Ehaan continued least bothered with my ignorance. "You're not allowed to bunk classes." He made it clear.
"Stop acting like her dad, Ehaan." Niti jumped in the conversation. "Allow her to enjoy a little. No one cares about the classes in university." She passed a wink in my direction.
"She do care about her classes and her marks," Ehaan answered on my behalf. And he was correct, I do care about my marks or I wouldn't be attending university sacrificing my sleep. I didnt came to university to have fun but to study, get good marks and have a bright future. That was my parents dream and I would fulfill it.
"And I don't want her panicking during the end of the semester." He groaned as his arms got wrapped around my shoulder pulling me close to his broad chest. He was getting more mascular with each passing day. He was giving alot of attention on his fitness due to the games.
"Where were you?" He whispered softly in my ears. I closed my orbs as I rested my head on his shoulder.
"Found Aarav outside," I muttered. "Was just having some talks with him."
Ehaan nodded as his orbs were staring at me in concern. "You don't need to be the part of dance club." He announced, his orbs softening on glancing at my shocked expression.
"But why?" Pia interrupted our conversation. "Palak have no objection with her." That was a new information. "Why would you want her to back off?"
"Isn't it obvious, Pia?" Tarun shook his head in disbelief. "Ruhi can't deal with Palak. She had tested your boundaries. Ruhi won't be able to stand before her for a minute." I was offended with Tarun's choice of words. I felt as if he was humiliating me. Degrading me! I wasn't as strong as Pia but he couldn't just rub it on my face! That was awnful!
"Who said that?" Ehaan came in my support. "She have defeated Pia on the dance floor without a proper practice." Ehaan pointed out as he kept rubbing his palms on my shoulder. "I don't think she won't give Palak a tough time." I could glance at the amazement on his friends faces.
Tarun, Niti and Pia was staring at Ehaan with surprise. None of them was fond of me. I never seen them excited or happy when I was brought into the topic. It was different when I was with Zara, Anuj, Aarav or Varun. They always had the adoration. Those orbs always screamed that they appreciated my presence around them. They never made me feel inferior. But there was a time when they did!
"She might be good in dance but to compete with Palak..." Niti kept it incomplete. "She isn't someone who can be defeated. She almost forced you to joint hands with your rival."
Rival? Was she talking about Rudr? Was Palak the reason behind the boundaries set between them? That was something shocking. It was next to impossible to convince them. How she did it? I was getting more curious about her with each passing moment.
"She wasn't the reason." Ehaan groaned at the revelation. "We came upon it with mutual decision."
"To stop her from destroying you." Pia commented, Ehaan's orbs moved in my direction. I could feel he was getting uncomfortable. He was getting uncomfortable due to my presence on the table. He had no problem sharing things, discussing matters with his friends but he could never let it slide to me.
I doubted if he trusted me. It broke my heart to see his new friends knew more things about his life than I did. I felt as if my presence weren't that important.
"I think," I masked a smile at my audience. "I need to attend the lectures." I raised from the chair. I could feel his gaze on me. His chair moved as he grabbed my bag. "I will go on my own." I muttered pulling it from him. "Don't need to stop the discussion due to me."
I walked off though I heard him calling me. His loud shout had grabbed attention of the public but I choose to ignore those orbs. I was hurt, wounded by his actions. I couldn't keep allowing him to treat me in that manner.
