"Dating?" I stared at him in pure confusion. "I am not dating him. Why would I even date him?" I was staring at Ehaan with confusion showering me. Why would I date Aditya? I hardly, know him!
"To fucking make me jealous." He grabbed my elbow, our forehead touching eachother. His orbs soften a minute later, "I fucking can't see him near you." He expressed, his orbs closed in exhaustion.
My heart ached on seeing his drained face. My hands urging me to caress his face. "Please, is it necessary." He was almost pleading with me. His voice so soft, so delicate. "I attempted, I really tired to accept your decision. I didn't wanted to force you but..." He choked, I could almost hear the pain in his voice. "I can't stay a week without your presence in my life."
He opened his orbs, staring at me in love, longing. "I don't mind our fights, those arguments. Your mood swings! Unless and until, you're talking to me I can deal with anything in the world. I wanted to pick you up, damn it!" He raised his voice in frustration. "But you didn't even wanted to glance at my face." I heard him broken, vulnerable.
My small, simple act could break him from within. I was capable of wounding the strongest guy in our university. His fingers were drawing patterns on my cheek, he loved doing it as if, it calmed him down.
"If I had glance at you, I wouldn't have been able to ignore you." I justified my actions, I couldn't afford to glance at his broken self. "There is a life beyond me," I reached to cup his face. "You need to realise it, Ehaan." I was almost urging him to understand.
I wanted him to fly high. To make the world proud of him. To make me proud of him. I couldn't see him, restricted from University. Getting involved in fights.
"You were doing so well until I arrived in the university." I mumbled trying to keep my tears in check. I needed to act strong for him. "I don't want you to spoil it due to me." I was requesting him to understand. It wasn't because I despised him or hate him, it was because I love him.
"I was a broken piece until you arrived, Ruhi. I hated and despised my existence. I was cruel to people around me because I felt peace in harming them. I was a devil, Ruhi. Pure Devil and I don't want him back. You have made this," Ehaan paused. "You have made me this! How can you be the reason of my downfall?" He was questioning, forcing me to change my decision.
"I am not the reason but I can turn out to be the reason of your downfall." He was staring at me in desperation. "Can't we give it a break? We love each other but can't we put it aside and concentrate on our life? On the upcoming future? Can't you concentrate on your goal rather than protecting me in each given minute?"
"I understand you care for me. But I assure you, I can take care of myself. Like I could have come home and you could have concentrated on football match. There was no need of asking Zara to call me and force me to stay," I passed a glare at him.
"I won't ever allow you to go with that idiot of a friend."
"You need to understand that I will make friends and I will want to enjoy with them away from you." I felt as if I was talking to a child. "Like, I had allowed you to make friends and enjoy with them. You go to so many parties, do I ever put restrictions on you? Why can't I be offered the same?" I was pleading with him to understand.
"There are monsters lurking around." He groaned at the thought of it. "Hadn't you seen what happened last time, I spare you for a minute with Tarun?" He was gritting his teeth in pure exasperation. "I wish, I could've killed him."
I passed him an annoyed glance. "Things like that happen! Pia was also there so was Niti and Zara. They were freely moving around, they weren't harm just because once..."
He kept a finger on my lips shutting my mouth. "I can't let you be alone in the cruel world. They would tear you apart," fear was visible in his orbs. "If I don't see you for a minute, or don't hear from anyone. I am filled with anxiety. People want to harm you due to me. How am I to breath knowing that someone could touch you at any given minute?"
"If you keep thinking about me, you will loose yourself."
"I don't mind! If having you requires that I loose myself, I don't mind." With those words, he pressed a kiss on my forehead. Our forehead leaning on eachother, silence prevailing around us. I felt peace! After a week, I felt happiness. The mere presence of him beside me could offer me with peace.
"I don't mind you having friends. I am not restricting you but I am just scared about your safety. I just want you safe and happy."
"Wow!" Varun exclaimed on glancing at us. They all had sat on the couch, they were preparing for something.
"The break up not even lasted for an hour." Zara commented glancing at our interwinded hands.
"Stop, it!" Ehaan groaned in annoyance, "it had lasted for a week." Ehaan made it sound so horrible as he pulled me beside him on the couch. He wasn't intending to leave my hands, Pia kept staring at it. I was feeling conscious around the new group. Others was used to it but the new members added to the group was staring at us with new found interest.
"So, this is our group bonding time." Varun stood in the front and continued. "So, today we are going to play truth or dare." He seemed more excited than rest of us.
Suddenly, I noticed the tension around the group. Zara was mostly engrossed in her cell. Only uttering words when asked or showing interest in only few things. Anuj interacted with Tarun and the rest while Aarav hadn't mentioned a word from past few minutes, he seemed lost. In thoughts that was troubling him. I frowned, hadn't things sorted out between them?
Was this get together planned to sort out their differences? Varun grabbed a seat on the floor beside the table. "Come," he was encouraging others to join him. While the rest seem uninterested. Anuj was providing him with 'are you serious' look.
I put a warm smile as I stood from the couch. Ehaan frowning as I stood from beside him, his hands interlocked with mine, dragging me back on the couch.
Pia stared at me in displeasure as I had grabbed Ehaan's attention from her. I wasn't doing it purposely!
"Where are you going?" Ehaan asked getting annoyed with me.
"There!" I pointed at Varun. "I want to play it," I beamed at him with happiness offering Ehaan with my beautiful white teeth.
His dark brown orbs were staring at me in admiration as frown disappeared from his face, a smile covering it.
"That boring thing!" Pia exclaimed in annoyance. "We aren't kid anylonger." This was the reason that I felt disconnected from the group. From the group, I called my family. They had grown up but I hadn't! I was still the same, small adorable kid.
I masked a smile as I stared at Varun disappointment face. He was attempting to bring them together. At least I could help him in the process.
"Do you want to play it?" Ehaan inquired grabbing my attention from Varun. I offered him a slight, hopeful nod. "Let's play than!" Ehaan muttered tightening his grip on my hands and dragging me towards the table.
I grinned at him, a hint of smile reaching his face as we sat on the floor along with Varun. I heard footsteps and Aditya jointed us as well. I gestured to him, vacant place beside me but I heard a groan from Ehaan.
"You promised me," I pointed my finger at Ehaan on seeing that he was passing a glare at Aditya.
Ehaan narrowed his orbs as he muttered something under his breath. "I will give it a try," Tarun muttered jointing us.
"Me too," Niti followed him.
I passed a pleading gaze at Anuj, requesting him. He huffed before walking towards the table. Only two of them was remaining. And I had little hope of them getting convinced.
"Fine!" I heard an exasperated sigh as Zara walk towards us. "I will try my level best that the friendship survive." There was a determination in her voice but I could hear the pain underlying in it as well.
Varun grabbed the bottle as Aarav hadn't made a move to join us. "So, let's start the game."
"You have forgotten the main ingredient." Aarav muttered from the corner, he shook his head as he walked into the kitchen.
I glanced at others in confusion while the rest had a smirk playing on their respective faces except Aditya and Zara's. Aditya had the same expression of confusion while Zara seemed least interested in it.
Aarav walked a minute back returning with jar filled with a liquid. I felt as if a wave of nostalgia hit me. The time when we had played 'Never Have I Ever.'
"Now, it's going to be fun." Aarav had a smirk playing on his face. "Come, Pia!" He invited her as she still was sitting on the couch.
Pia passed a fake smile as she walked towards us. I had almost forgotten about her. I wouldn't had mind if she didn't joined us. I shove my thoughts away! Why I shared such a huge disliking towards her? I was answered by her, as she came and sat beside Ehaan. I didn't admire the way she would stare at him.
Aarav was left with no option than sitting beside her. I could feel Zara shooting daggers at them. She was sitting opposite to them. Anuj beside her, an annoyed expression covering his spirit. His stern orbs fixed on Aarav. As if he was stopping himself from punching on Aarav.
"So, shall we start?" Varun looked in question at everyone present. "As everyone knows the rule. If someone can't complete the dare given to them or answer the truth. They will have to take a sip from the jar. It's the punishment." He announced it to the group.
"And those who don't drink," Ehaan was smirking at me. "Make it a point that you face the challenge," he was teasing me. I passed him a glare in annoyance.
Varun turned the bottle and it halted on Niti. She jumped in excitement, her orbs getting nervous. As she looked around in anticipation.
"Truth or dare?" Varun asked her.
"Truth!" Her orbs were sparkling in enthusiasm. She was very excited for the game.
"Is your crush present among us?" Varun was staring at Anuj in anticipation.
"Yes!" She nodded her head vigorously.
"What's his name?" Varun inquired further. I was staring at the exchange with curiosity. Niti was going to open her mouth but Anuj interrupted it.
"One question at a time!" He glared at Varun as he turned the bottle so the game could continue. It came and rested on Aarav. The tension filling in the room.
"Truth or dare?" Anuj voice sounded harsh, mean.
Aarav rolled his orbs, "dare..." His orbs fuming in rage.
"Kiss the girl who makes your heart flutter." Anuj was staring at him in warning.
Aarav stared at him, a minute longer. His orbs turning stern, displeasure covering his spirit. He stood from his place. Everyone's orbs were fixed on him. On his each and every move. He turned around, kept moving until he stood behind Zara.
Zara had lowered her head. As if the flooring was more beautiful than our faces.
"Zara!" He called her up. I stared at them in admiration. I was so excited for them. She stood on her ground. As if she couldn't hear him. I heard him sigh, he leaned towards her head as he pressed a kiss on her hairs.
"I hope this will count," Aarav groaned at Anuj as he walked back to his place. There was silence for a minutes. People around trying to absorb it. Why had Zara not turned? Why had she ignored him? Due to the cheating rumors? Could be!
Niti took the initiative to turn the bottle as the rest were silent. It came and rested on Ehaan. I gasped while Niti giggled.
"Oh my god!" She was enjoying her moment. "Finally!" She was celebrating the moment while Ehaan started at him with a bored expression. "Truth or Dare?"
He spare a glance at me, a smirk playing on his lips. "Dare!"
Niti took a minute of consideration. "Get off that shirt!" I widen my eyes at her demand. How could she ask a guy to do that? I heard a giggle from Pia.
"Can you both stop drooling over his muscles." Aarav growled in annoyance.
"You should concentrate on your crush. Stop drooling over someone else boyfriend." Tarun muttered in support. Niti passed a glare at Tarun.
"Aww... Don't be jealous," Pia pulled Aarav's cheek. "I admire your muscles as well." She giggled while I stared at her in annoyance. Why she had to flirt with everyone?
I averted my attention at Ehaan. Was he going to do that? Rather than making his way towards his shirt, he grabbed the jar and took a sip from it. He groaned as that liquid got into his throat. "What a stupid dare!"
"Oh!" Niti stared in disappointment, "he gave up!"
"He knows his limit!" Anuj uttered, "he knows his priority." His orbs fixed on Aarav. There was something cooking between them but what?
Ehaan moved the bottle, it came and rested on Varun. "Truth or Dare?"
"Truth!" Varun screamed, "I am not planning to get naked."
"Why you and Samaira broke up?"
Varun orbs widen, his head lowering as curious orbs were fixed on him.
"He had a girlfriend?" Tarun asked getting excited. "Why we weren't inform anything about it?" He narrowed his eyes on Varun.
"Because he had," Zara commented. "In past tense," she shook her head in annoyance. "He didn't wanted it to be brought in the conversation." Zara muttered passing a glare at Ehaan for bringing it up.
Varun grabbed the jar and took a sip from it. "Oh! Wow!" Niti commented, "why would you want to hide the reasons from your friends?" She was amazed with his actions.
"Let's take the game forward," Aarav muttered grabbing the bottle and turning it. It halted on Zara. There was silence, Aarav was going to turn it again but Tarun interrupted him.
"That would be cheating," he muttered. Aarav took a minute, staring at Zara.
"Truth or Dare?" His voice was firm, his orbs staring at her.
Anuj nugged Zara to respond, Zara slowly raised her head. Their orbs meeting eachother. Aarav's orbs turning soft as he glanced at her.
"Truth!" Her voice was almost broken, she was attempting hard to keep herself strong.
"Do you think I cheated on you with Pia?" There were gasp spreading around the living area.
"What absurd question is this!" Pia screamed in displeasure.
"Do you regret ever welcoming her in this group?"
"Do you want to break up with me?"
He kept questioning while Zara kept staring in his orbs. There was pain hidden behind their orbs.
Zara gave a slight nod to his question. "I do!" She informed for which Aarav nodded in agreement. As he turned the bottle again, I could see he was fuming in rage, exasperation. The bottle moved, came and rested on Anuj.
"Truth or Dare?" His orbs fuming in frustration.
Anuj stared at him a minute longer. "You don't need to play this stupid game to ask me what you want to!" He groaned in annoyance.
"If I hadn't dated her would you have?" I almost gasped in horror. What was wrong with Aarav.
"Do you doubt my intentions?" Anuj fumed at his question.
"I am asking you a question. Would you have?"
"I would any day choose her over your stupid choice of women." Anuj didn't hesitated to voice it out, firmly.
Aarav nodded, a laugh forming out of his throat. His orbs averting on Ehaan. "Do you trust me, man?" I could hear him breaking. I had never seen him so vulnerable. "Or you too have doubts over me?"
"Aarav..." Ehaan stood from his position. "Had you got yourself drunk?" He asked moving closer to him.
"They have doubts that I loose my mind when I get drunk. I just wanted to let them know, I don't lose my senses over wrong and right." He was pointing fingers at his friends. Pointing fingers at the accusation thrown on him.
"You should be taken to bed," Ehaan attempted to move him but he was rooted on the spot.
"I still have questions," Aarav was adamant as he moved his gaze to Pia. "Did we ever hook-up? Drunken or sober?"
Pia widen his orbs, she was fuming in rage. "Was I called here to be humilated?" Her orbs moved to Ehaan. "You told, you trusted me. You assured that this won't be brought, again." Her orbs were brimming in tears.
"Exactly! Why is she questioned?" Niti jointed her. "Aarav, you should be questioning your girlfriend trust not my friend's character."
"Girlfriend?" Aarav laughed shaking his head. "Never mind!" He turned to all of us. "The proof suggests that I am innocent but would the public approve of it?" He shook his head. "How would it? Because once a criminal, always a criminal." His voice was loud and clear. "So, guess what? I am going to proof the public correct. I am going to turn into criminal, again." He announced rushing out of the mansion. Ehaan and Varun followed him.
Niti moved to console crying Pia while Anuj grabbed Zara and pull her out of the mansion. I and Tarun started at eachother with numerous question while Aditya was passing us a confused stare.
We were trying to clean the living area as the rest were filled in grief. Aditya had gone to his house. Anuj and Zara had gone as well, there was no sign of Ehaan and Varun. None of them was receiving Tarun's call.
Pia and Niti was sleeping in one of the guest room. "Why you don't go and rest?" Tarun asked as I sat on the couch, he followed me.
"I won't be able to sleep until Ehaan arrives. It's going to affect him the most." I muttered, shaking my head in disbelief.
"What do you think about it?" Tarun inquired.
"What is there to think about?" I stared at him in disbelief. "Hadn't he shared it loud and clear that he hadn't done it."
"But Pia didn't reply," Tarun pointed out. I felt uncomfortable in Tarun's presence at that moment. I shook my head concentrating on the conversation.
"It was overwhelming for her! She couldn't handle such an accusation." I pointed out, "that also proves her innocence." I was lost in thoughts. The way Aarav had walked out in anger and determination. He was broken by the accusation. He wanted his friends to trust him.
I sighed, "I hope he will be fine!"
"What about Zara?" Tarun inquired, "she got cheated you should be thinking about her."
"I don't think, she got cheated. She mistook Aarav. She allowed those fake pictures to manipulate her trust in him." I shook my head, "we should find the person behind those pictures. Putting allegation of someone character is a wrong thing." I pointed out, staring at the entrance, waiting for their arrival.
"We can't blame Zara. If it isn't true yet Aarav had framed his character in such a manner. Any sane person would've doubted his intention. Hadn't you seen his support for Pia? He supported her over you." Tarun was trying to do something. A pattern of his conversation. He was trying to build hard feelings in my heart for Aarav but why?
I nodded not wanting to add any points to his accusation. Did he disliked Aarav?
"What if Ehaan had choose Pia on that party night? You would have doubted Ehaan's intention as well. During his past two years of University life, you weren't present. You aren't aware of the life he held."
I smiled at him, "I love him and with love there is trust. I know, the love he holds for me won't ever allow him to do anything that will hurt me." I paused, "even if he wants to." I muttered and we soon heard loud, approaching footsteps.
My orbs moved towards the direction, I sighed in relief. Ehaan was walking towards us. His orbs defining exhaustion as his legs pulled him to me. I stood from the couch, he came and stood infront of me. Varun was following him, he passed me a smile.
"What is it?" Tarun inquired in concern.
"He is fine," Varun answered while Ehaan leaned towards me. His head nuzzling in the crook of my neck as his arms got wrapped around me. He was drained, exhausted!
"Come," he muttered as he didn't wait for Varun to finish narrating the events.
He dragged me upstairs, his grip on my wrist. We kept walking until he opened the door of his room and got us inside. "You smell awnful!" I uttered as I closed the door behind me. "What happened? How is Aarav?"
"I don't know," he sounded exhausted. He walked towards his wardrobe, checking for suitable clothes. He got two pairs of shirts and a trousers and short. I pulled my brows up in question.
"I can't afford you leaving my side for the night." He handed me his grey shirt and shorts. "Go and change," he pointed at the washroom.
"Niti and Pia are staying in my room." I pointed out.
"You're staying by my side." He moved his hand to rub his forehead. "I can't handle it anymore!" He sounded confused, I nodded not wanting to load him with questions.
During this past few years, I had understood if Ehaan wanted to share something he would but if he don't want to he won't. There was no use of forcing him. I walked towards the washroom with his clothes. I had my dress but it was in guest room. Disturbing the girls at midnight won't be a good idea.
And I felt more comfortable in oversize shirt and his shorts. Even adorable as he calls it!
I glanced at myself in the mirror. His grey shirt was hanging around my hands. His shirt long enough to reach my thighs. I made a double check, smashing some water on my cheeks and wiping it clean, I walked into the room.
Ehaan was walking in the room with just the trousers hanging low under his waist. His hands wiping water from his hairs as he was trying to find something in the cupboard.
"What are you searching?" I inquired as I jumped on his bed, folding my legs.
"Hmm... Nothing important," he wasn't in a mood to share.
"Are you going to roam around like this? As if you lack shirts?" I inquired that grabbed his attention. His orbs dancing in amusement at my choice of question.
"Do you have problem?" He smirked turning his direction towards me.
"Why would I?" I shrugged my shoulder. A thin layer of blush covering my cheek due to his intense gaze. He carried on with his word of finding his treasure.
"But I hadn't anticipated that you won't follow the dare." I paused trying to form the words properly, "you don't admire defeat. It's burns you from within. You always want to win. Than why you took that sip of juice rather than completing the challenge?"
"It isn't the Ehaan Kashyap, Heaven's High known for!" I was teasing him.
He laughed at my words and I stared at him in admiration. I wanted him to forget the stress, troubling him. He didn't look good in his stern expression. His face devoid of emotions. The fight had troubled him but he needed to let it go. Not affect himself with it!
"This Ehaan Kashyap is changed and he was changed in Heaven's High by Ruhi Raichand." He winked, walking forward to the bed.
"Oh! Is she a magician?" I asked, giggling as he leaned his face towards me.
"She is the most beautiful magician I ever know!" He commented, wrapping his arms around my waist. "She has the magic of changing my mood in swift seconds." His thumbs caressing my nose. I kept giggling at him while his lips formed into a slight grin.
He pushed me into the bed while he jumped on me. Our forehead leaning on eachother. Our face just inches away.
"Reason I wanted you beside me," he breathed sounding sad. "You can make me laugh when I am not even in a mood to pass a smile." He rested on the mattress, his naked chest touching my skin as he pulled me to his chest.
I could hear his loud beating heart. His lips pecking on my hairs. "Thanks for existing," he commented. His arms engulfing me in his embrace. We felt at peace in eachother's embrace.
