I adored bike rides more than jeep rides. I had one of my scooty parked outside my house, I hardly used it. Mostly, because the male surrounding me didn't trusted my driving skills. I rolled my orbs as I glanced at Anuj's bike waiting for me.
"When are you planning to teach me to ride the bike?" I inquired in new found curiosity. I had started having likeness towards the motorcycle. University was filled with various luxurious vehicles. It was beautiful for orbs and when you find them driving, they looked attractive.
"Bike?" He almost laughed at my question. I frowned at his reaction, what was that funny in it?
"From when you started admiring bikes?" Anuj inquired in curiosity.
"They are cool!" I answered instead. I wasn't sure when but I had the deep curiosity of riding them.
"I am glad that you have started finding it cool." Anuj laughed as he handed me the helmet but I was adamant not to wear it. Bike rides were beautiful when you allowed those hairs to fly in the air. It felt as if you were flying in the sky. I always wanted to experience it, the feeling of freedom, the bike rides provided.
I was changing and I could feel it in my bones! Maybe staying with them, being friends with them was slowly changing my interest in certain things.
He started the engine and drove the bike on a limited speed, the reason was the person sitting behind him. He used to drive slow if I was accompanying him.
"Hadn't you mentioned to Ehaan that I will drop you to school?" Anuj inquired, "he was taken aback when I mentioned about it to him."
I kept quiet trying to form a proper reasoning. I couldn't tell him the truth. I was scared of his reaction. Anuj won't ever appreciate my decision for the break from the relationship.
"I was caught up in completing the notes, I forgot to inform to him." I muttered trying to sound sincere. He didn't comment on it, maybe he brought up the lie.
"You shouldn't load yourself much with the studies. You had being mostly in library from past few days. Burdening yourself with studies, I wanted to talk about it to you." He paused for a minute, "but I was caught with other issues."
I nodded, understanding his situation. He had more things to handle. "How is Zara?" I inquired, I hesitated.
"She will eventually move over it." Anuj sighed. "She is trying to act least bothered but I know her. She was attached to him for past many years yet she hold herself back as she could realise the consequences."
"There couldn't be misunderstanding," I attempted to hope. To consider those thoughts.
"It's not!" Anuj muttered some curses under his breath. "I had hoped of him changing. I was delusional that love could change but I was wrong," Anuj shook his head.
"It's in his nature, he can't move pass his fear."
Fear? How could a fear make someone disloyal? How a fear force someone to cheat? I shook my head. I didn't wanted to disturb my mind with such thoughts.
We reached to the university, Anuj parked the bike. And I made an excuse of having to complete some group project. He frowned at me, trying to read behind my excuse.
"Fine, but you're not allowed to skip the snacks." He offered me his pointed, protective look. "I want you in cafeteria at the break and not engrossed in books in the library. Studies can wait!" He uttered, I provided a small nod. There was no escaping from it.
I rushed into the class, avoiding the get-together in the cafeteria. I was certain that Ehaan wouldn't be pleased with my disappearance.
I had missed his presence but to stand firm in my decision, I had to maintain some distances between us.
I concentrate on my studies, that should be my goal. Excelling in my studies and making my parents proud. I had read all those romantic books and I was a big fan of childhood sweethearts. I had heard even real life stories of couple making it to marriage. It was a difficult task. Managing studies and personal relationship. It was way complicated for our age!
I had seen disaster against disasters in the relationship. From Varun and Samaria parting away to Zara and Aarav's problems. My decision of the break was to avoid the pain real break-up would cause.
I sighed as I shook my head and forced my brain to concentrate on making notes of important things, the professor was uttering. It was a tip given to me by Aditiya. He had advised me to write things, doubts during the class so it will get easy to study the topic later.
Heavens High was a wonderful school. Though I despised it when I was studying in it. Here professor cared less if the students were attending or interested in their subject. They just completed their task and walked out of the class. Not even asking if we had any doubts. Not that I was going to raise my hands among the vast crowd and voice my doubts.
The lecture was done and almost everyone stood from their respective place. Aditya moved towards me, a wide smile playing on his lips. "So, are we going back to library?" He inquired, I passed an hesitating smile. I had the same plan but I had to deal with Anuj.
"What about if we eat something?" I inquired, almost pleading him not to back off. He frowned but gave a slight nod. "We can than go to library," I attempted to cheer him up. He didn't adored the idea of hanging up with my friends. I would have felt the same if I was humilated like him.
I could feel a curious gaze in my direction but I ignored it. Ved used to keep an eye on me. Never attempted to approach but I didn't adored his attention. Those stares were annoying after being aware of his motives but I hadn't informed it to anyone because the reaction would be loud and I wasn't prepared for it.
We walked out of the class, making our way to cafeteria. The loud crowd was making it overwhelming, their shouts and yells torturing my eardrumbs. I would choose library over cafeteria any day but I couldn't sadden Anuj. Moreover he would've irritated me until I had followed his demand.
My orbs moved around the cafeteria, everyone was present on the table. Much to my surprise! Was things sorted among them? I frowned as I felt a touch on my shoulder. "You can go and grab a seat with them. I will go and buy our snacks?" He offered, I passed a smile.
"Why? I will accompany you," I mumbled. Choosing the queue rather than sitting on the chair. We had our way to the counter in peace. We had a beautiful bonding, enjoying silence. I loved that about our friendship. Friendship? I laughed at my thoughts. I never easily labelled someone as my friend.
As we got our tray we walked towards the table. We had grabbed the attention of my friends. They were almost glaring at my companion. I had known it!
I placed my tray infront of the vacant chair, Aditya stood beside me. I passed him a hesitating smile, almost apologising for my friends hostile behaviour. I didn't wanted to drag him in it but I also didn't wanted to loose the only ray of hope in the strange surrounding. I felt comfortable around him. I had found someone whose presence I adored and I liked his vibes. I really wanted our friendship to blossom.
"Hi! Ruhi," Tarun was the first to greet and erase the silence on the table. He passed a warm smile at me and my companion. I appreciated it! "Grab a seat, nice to meet you as well..."
"Aditya," he introduced himself. "I am her classmate."
"Oh! I am Tarun," he looked around the table. None of them was showing interest, "and she is Niti, Pia..." They both raised their heads and nodded respectively.
"Over there is Anuj..." Aditya interrupted, a warm, impressive smile playing on his lips.
"I know them, they were stars of Heavens High." He was staring at them in pride as if he considered them as his idols.
"Here we go!" Tarun chuckled, "another fan added to the list."
"It's a privilege to even talk to them." He sounded happy, he glanced at me. "It's due to you that I am sharing the table with them." I smiled at his innocence, his admiration. He looked so adorable at the moment.
"Aww... They are so adorable," Niti muttered making me to stare away from his face.
"You found everyone adorable," Pia shook her head at her friend's comment. She had a smile playing on her face. I sighed at the view before me. They all sitting on the table as if they hadn't fought a day back.
I moved my gaze to Aarav, he was busy in his cell. Zara was sitting exact opposite to him, furiously typing something on her cellphone. Least bothered with things happening on the table. Anuj was staring at me with a questioning gaze, his orbs kept averting to my companion.
I ignored glancing at Ehaan's direction. I could feel his glare but I avoided it. Varun was offering curious but a friendly smile.
"What were we talking about before their grand entry!" Tarun glanced at his uninterested group of friend. I could feel the tension yet they had opted to fake an act of harmony, should be appreciated. I could feel various orbs on us.
"We can't discuss among a complete stranger." Ehaan put his opinion, his voice authorative. I had known it! I had known they won't approve of him without a loud drama.
"We were here to just grab our snacks," I mumbled. Raising from the chair and Aditya followed my actions. Everyone of the table was staring at me with surprise. My move had grabbed Aarav's and Zara's attention as well. "Anuj wanted me to grab snacks and we had," I pointed the trays. "We shall leave?" I glanced at my companion for a response.
Maybe on the first day, I hadn't took a stand for him but I wasn't going to repeat it. They were my friends and I loved them but I couldn't allow them to disrespect my new friend. Whatever their reasons be!
"Ruhi!" Anuj stared at me in surprise, he stared between me and Ehaan. I could see realisation drawing upon him and him sinking into the chair. Anuj was disappointed and I had never seen that look on his face.
"Ruhi," Niti continued on Anuj behalf. "I think, Ehaan didn't mean that..." She looked uncertain attempting to ask help from anyone present on the table. "They don't consider you as a stranger. It's just..." Her orbs averted towards my companion. "Some matters needs to..."
"I do understand!" I assured her, masking a smile. "We were planning to have our snacks in a quite environment but I insisted in greeting you all before carrying with our plans. We have some chapters to discuss," I informed. "So, Anuj don't wait for me. It might get late and you have football practice to attend." I passed him a smile as I moved from the table followed by Aditya.
As we were out of the crowded cafeteria, we both sighed in relief and glanced at eachother at our similarities. I felt as if I had met a male version of Samaria. I was friend with her and I considered her close because we were similar. We never had to fit in with eachother. They was no efforts required. I smiled at the thought of it. He reminded me so much of Samaria.
"You shouldn't have done that!" He commented as he walked into the open space, in the sweet garden.
The campus was beautiful. I would've loved it, if I hadn't come here to study. "What?" I asked confused as we grabbed a vacant bench. Many was occupying the garden, chilling with their friends. Garden was more peaceful than the loud cafeteria.
"You could have stayed behind," Aditya muttered grabbing my attention. "You didn't had to do that for me. Abandoning your friends for me." He shook his head at the thought of it. "They didn't liked it!"
"I wasn't abandoning my friends. I was just choosing with whom to hang out with." I shrugged my shoulder passing him with a smile.
"You're different," he muttered those words again. I rolled my orbs at him.
"I know that!" I said it out in annoyance while he laughed.
As I had anticipated by the time we were done with scribbling the notes almost the entire University was empty.
There were few still left in the library. Flashes of past came revolting back. Past, when Ehaan had helped with the assignment. He had bothered to complete those pages for me. Things were so different! If it was school, he might have come to glance me or dropped a message. I wasn't offered with a single message. I sighed, diverting my attention back to Aditya.
"Let's leave," he offered me his smile. I nodded as I packed my stuff and walked out of the library. "Would you like me to drop you off?" He asked as we were descending the stairs.
I was going to answer him but the notification on the cell grabbed my attention. The smallest hope that it was from Ehaan made me to stare at it with desperation. Unfortunately, it was from Anuj. The excitement disappearing in the thin air.
'Where are you?'
'Come on the football ground once you're done with the studies.'
Football ground! Ehaan would be present among them. I wasn't planning to meet him. I sighed as I typed the message that I won't.
Aditya was staring at me, curiously but wasn't trying to pry in the matter. He allowed with the space. I was allowed to share as much as I wanted. That was a good personality trait!
As we were on the parking lot. My cell rang it was not Anuj but Zara. I frowned as I received her call.
"Ruhi, where are you?" She sounded serious even stern. "If you are planning to leave with that idiot of friend, just stop!" She was almost yelling on me. "Get here, now!" She was scolding me as if I was a child.
I felt humiliated at the moment. They had acted that before! They had treated me like a small kid. I had allowed them but at this moment, I felt restricted. I felt as if they were the prison that was restricting my freedom. They cared for me but wasn't it shaping into possessiveness?
I sighed looking at my companion. What was I going to do? Was I going to listen to Zara's yell or listen to myself? I couldn't allow someone to rule my life.
"Can we wait in the parking lot for them?" I stared at him with a hope. Aditya passed a sweet-smile.
"Yeah, sure!" He nodded, "you can go with them if you want to." He offered, "I won't be upset, I understand that they are your friends and you can't forget your old friends for the new ones." He winked at me in the end attempting to lighten the tense environment.
I nodded as we walked towards Ehaan jeep. "Have you ever felt like the bond changing? Its weird feeling!" I paused, I wanted someone's opinion on the matter. "Like suddenly you understand that you're not happy with them. Can friendship fade away?" I was curious for his answer, for his opinion.
He was someone, who loved talking about such topics. And I didn't had to hesitate to ask some deep, meaningful questions.
"Obviously! Friendship does fade away or won't we share same group of friends from kindergarten to old-age." He laughed as his words but upon glancing at my sad face, he continued. "But it isn't necessary that it always fade. Some bonds stay despite the hardship, they do survive."
"What if you don't want to hang out with them?" I almost was in tears as I was explaining it to him. I felt alone in my group of friends. I could glance at the difference we processed.
"Than you should allow yourself with the break. If you want to distance yourself from them, than you should." He explained, staring at me, keenly. "With age we mature and at times we grow apart. Not because they are wrong or you're. It just we have different companion in our path to life."
The thought of departing from them or never been able to have that bond again, scared me. Horrified me! I loved them. I loved the friendship I shared with them. They were different from me and I knew that years back but yet they had managed to make a place in my heart. How could I ever leave without them in my life?
"Do you want to share, anything?" Aditya inquired, his orbs fixed on me. As if he was attempting to read me. I shook my head. I couldn't share my innermost emotions with a stranger.
"Nothing!" I muttered as I jumped on Ehaan's jeep and grabbed a seat. He stared at me, horrified. "What?" I glanced at him in confusion.
"You're really close to them," he muttered much to himself but I heard him. "Sitting on his jeep." He commented, shaking his head in disbelief. "I heard that he would punch anyone if they even touched his possession." Arjun was describing his fear about the matter.
I laughed at his frightened face. "You don't need to worry about it. I had never seen him doing that!" I waved it off, offering him a seat beside me. "Come! They are going to take hours to arrive." I informed as I grabbed a remote and played the music in his jeep.
"Are you sure?" He was staring at me in uneasiness. "He won't mind you touching his stuff without his permission?" He sounded doubtful.
"As much as I am aware, he won't. But we can't ever say," I shook my head in annoyance. "There is always, his mood swings." I explained, his orbs were just staring at me in amazement, pure shock and surprise.
As predicted, they took almost an hour to walk into the parking lot. The darkness had spread into the sky. The small glitters of stars shining in the sky.
"You love stars?" Aditya inquired, glancing at my smiling face. He was adamant not to sit on the jeep.
"I am admire of nature and beauty. I love anything that is beautiful!" I grinned at me as I heard their rough footsteps. Aditya straighten up in fear.
"I... I guess, I should leave..." He whispered glancing at them, approaching us.
"No!" I shove it off. I was admiring his company. "I will ask them to drop you home," I passed him a reassuring smile, to erase his nervousness.
"No! Please!" He was almost pleading with me.
"What is it?" I heard a deep annoyed voice of Anuj. His orbs spying from me to Aditya. "What is he pleading about?" His curious orbs resting on Aditya.
"You won't mind dropping him home?"
"We haven't opened a service of dropping fresheners home." Ehaan mocked, causing a giggle to pop out of Pia. She was standing beside him. I felt humiliated! He was making a joke of me, infront of his friends.
"Why you wanted me to wait?" I glanced at Anuj, ignoring Ehaan. I had to act strong! I couldn't allow him to get under my nerves.
"What do you mean, why I wanted you to wait?" Anuj stared at me in disbelief. "I always pick and drop you."
"But your friend over here has problem with that!" I pointed at Ehaan, "I was just asking you to drop my friend as well because he was waiting for me while you were engrossed with your bunch of friends."
"Ruhi!" Zara seemed offended with my words. "What do you mean by his friends? Are we just Anuj's friends not yours?"
"If you can't respect my opinion or my choices. I don't believe that we are friends." I mumbled, their was silence surrounding us.
"Fine," Anuj broke it after a minute. "We don't have any problem dropping your friend off." He announced, I nodded. I was on the verge of getting up from the passenger seat but Ehaan groaned at my actions.
"Now, what's your deal?" He groaned as he had approached the driver seat. "He is coming with us, don't you dare move from here." He offered a pointed look of annoyance.
"I am going to sit back with my friend. You can sit with yours." I glanced at Pia with a sweet-smile as I moved towards the back side of the jeep. I could feel eyes on us but I ignored it. I wasn't letting it affect my decision.
I jumped on the jeep while I offered my hands for Aditya to grab it but before he could, Anuj push him aside and planted his hands on my palm, a sheepish smile playing on his face. I glared at him but push him inside. I was going to offer my hands again but Anuj grabbed me and dragged me into a seat.
"Anuj!" I passed him a glare. "I am going to sit with him. You go and sit with Zara." I pointed at the seat opposite to us.
"He can sit there if you don't want him murdered." Anuj mumbled in my ears. I frowned but as I glanced at the direction he was staring, I shut my mouth. Ehaan was staring at us from the mirror. His dark brown orbs fuming in rage and annoyance. I was testing his patience.
Aarav had gragrabbed the seat beside Ehaan as Pia had walked behind. I shook my head as I passed a smile at Aditya.
Anuj wrapped his arms around my shoulder. "Have you both fought?" Anuj was staring at me, with numerous questions showering him.
"We had breakup," I muttered, my heart turning heavy at those words.
"You did! What?" He screamed in pure horror. Grabbing others attention. I lowered my head in embarrassment. I wasn't planning to disclose it yet but I couldn't hide it as well.
"Mr Ehaan Kashyap!" Anuj was yelling at him. I was trying to hold him up, trying to grab his attention but he wasn't in a mood to listen. "What am I hearing? You broke up with Ruhi?" I heard numerous grasp coming from people surrounding us.
"You should question, your lovely sister about it." Ehaan sounded uninterested. "She want a break from me," his words came out in hostile manner.
"I didn't said, I want break from you. But it will be better if we take a break." I whispered softly but people could hear me.
"You are dating him?" Aditya sounded surprised.
"Do you have any problem with that?" Ehaan voice was dangerous as if he was trying hard to control his fury. Aditya was scared enough not to open his mouth again.
"Guys! What about our plan?" Aarav attempted to change the topic. "We are going to Ehaan's place, right?"
"Yeah!" A loud shout of approval forced me to shut my ears.
"I want to be dropped home." I muttered to Anuj.
"You have took break from Ehaan not us, Ruhi." Zara mumbled, she was almost pleading with me. "I need a companion with me. I can't lose my girl gang," she was staring at me with a hope.
I felt guilty on seeing her longing orbs. I gave a small nod, "only if Aditya will be joining us as well." I started at Aditya with a hopeful gaze. I heard a groan but I ignored it.
Aditya was stunned with my request. He seemed so out of place but I wanted him to accompany me. I won't be able to fit in if he won't be present. From past few days, I had connected only with him. It was weird but it was the truth! My friends had turned strangers while a stranger had turned into a friend.
"Fine," I heard Anuj groan. "But you're keeping your distance from him. I don't like him around you. He is surely manipulating my innocent sister," he muttered in annoyance.
"Your sister is no longer a kid," I shove his arms away from my shoulder. "She can't be manipulated." I groaned at the thought of it. I was done with their overprotective nature, I could be friend with anyone, I wish too!
Coming to mansion felt like a home. I jumped out of the jeep making my way to Aditya. I was attempting to make him comfortable in my group of friends.
"Wow!" Aditya was staring at the mansion with admiration. "This is so beautiful!" His orbs were glancing at every detail of the art, a smile covering his face. He was an admire of beauty! His face was screaming it.
"I love it too!" I muttered in happiness.
Suddenly, I felt an arm around my waist pulling me closer to his chest. "If you would provide us with few minutes." He was gritting his teeth in frustration, his orbs trying to burn Aditya with the fire, he was holding inside.
"Sure..." Aditya rushed to the others keeping both of us alone under the dark sky.
"What is it!" I attempted to jerk off his hands from my waist but his grip was tight. His orbs hard on me, "what are you doing?"
"You had informed me about a break." His dark brown orbs fuming in exasperation. "Not you fucking dating an idiot!" I was intimidated by the anger radidating from his spirit. He was furious would be understatement.
